Our CPD Certificate in Electrotherapy and Ultrasound forms one of the modules on our Level 5 Sports and Clinical Therapy Diploma, which is an accredited qualification.
Our two day CPD Certificate course is also open to study as an individual module and CPD course and is accredited for 16 CPD points by both the FHT and the STO.
This course is designed for those who are looking to use Electrotherapy modalities professionally within injury treatment and rehabilitation.
Open to Sports Massage Therapists at Level 4 or above, Sports Therapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists as continued professional development.
This course cover application of the following modalities: TENS, NMES, IFT and Ultrasound along with an introduction to Class 4 (MLS) Laser and Shockwave therapy.

Course Design
Delivered by Georgina King BSc (Hons), SST.
This course is taught using a hands-on approach, therefore you will be practising Electrotherapy techniques throughout the training days, whilst receiving ongoing input from the tutor.
Designed inline with the National Occupational Standards and accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Sports Therapy Organisation.

- Introduction to Electrotherapy within Sports Massage and Sports Therapy
- Physiology of pain and pain management
- Application of TENS

- Application of Interferential Therapy

Entry Requirements & background
Course applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and must hold a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Sports Massage Therapy (or similar). Applicants should have also been practising Sports Massage Therapy for a period of time prior to enrolling on this course.
This course is also open to Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Rehabilitation professionals.
This course will expand on injury treatment knowledge, and will develop the use of Electrotherapy modalities including application of Ultrasound therapy, Laser and Shockwave therapy along with TENS, NME’s and Combination therapy.
On completion of the course you will be able to demonstrate effective use and application of Electrotherapy modalities in the management of injuries in a safe and effective manner and will have a clear understanding of contraindications for treatment.
